What to expect during your appointment

Your first appointment will last approximately 45minutes. It will involve a detailed discussion on your symptoms and your medical history. Your Physiotherapist will ask you about your pregnancy history, your bladder and bowel habits, your surgical and perhaps even your sexual history. This is important to get a clear diagnosis of the problem.

A physical examination will then be offered. This involves observation and then if appropriate an internal examination. This part of the assessment is helpful but not essential; your therapist will discuss this with you. Once a diagnosis has been made the physiotherapist will then tailor a treatment plan to your needs.

No details on your symptoms will be taken over the phone.
